Harry Kane described Bayern Munich's DFB-Pokal triumph as "one of the best nights" of his career after his hat-trick downed Stuttgart in the final.
Bayern won 3-0 on Saturday, with Kane scoring all three of his goals in the second half as Vincent Kompany's side closed out their season with a domestic double.
Kane is just the fourth player to score a hat-trick in a DFB-Pokal final, after Uwe Seeler in 1963 (Hamburg), Roland Wohlfarth in 1986 (Bayern) and Robert Lewandowski in 2012 (Borussia Dortmund).
And only Gerd Muller in 1976-77 (11) has scored more goals for Bayern in a single edition of the competition than Kane (10), while he is the third player to score in every round of the DFB-Pokal in a season after Dieter Muller in 1976-77 and Dirk Kurtenbach in 1986-87.
Kane has now scored 61 goals for Bayern this season (not including the Club World Cup) in 51 games across all competitions, with 10 of those coming in the DFB-Pokal.
The England international was delighted to end his brilliant campaign with more silverware.
"This was definitely one of the best nights of my career," said Kane.
"I was so looking forward to this final. I’d heard so much from all the players who’d experienced this final before with the club.
"I wanted to make the team proud; I wanted to make the fans proud. And to score a hat-trick in a final, it’s just such a special game and special feeling.
"I’m so proud of that. It was a long and hard season. Ending it like this is perfect."
Bayern won the DFB-Pokal for the 21st time, which is 15 titles more than any other team in this competition.
They also won 46 of their 55 matches this season (D6 L3) – this is a club record-equalling feat and has only happened for them since promotion to the Bundesliga in the treble-winning season of 2012-13.
"It’s wonderful. We played against a good opponent," said Kompany.
"The first half was pretty even. This team always manages to up their level. We defended solidly. It was almost the perfect final.
"Every player said at half-time that we’re close and can do it. There were one-v-ones where we didn’t make the correct decision, but we felt we could up our level.
"It was a close final, and then we scored the goals we needed to win in the second half. We sometimes made really good moves into space. You’ve then got a good mix of action on the ball and active runs. That’s tough to defend."
