Harry Kane believes his battle with Mohamed Salah can become the new Cristiano Ronaldo versus Lionel Messi.
Liverpool forward Salah pipped Kane to the Premier League golden boot award on the final day of the season; the Egyptian scoring 32 top-flight goals to the England striker's 30.
The pair's prolific campaigns marks the start of what could become a long-running contest, similar to the battles between Messi and Ronaldo in Spain, and Kane thinks the fight between Salah and himself can have a similar impact.
'Yes I think it can be the same,' said the Tottenham striker. 'For me it's about doing it year after year. This is my fourth year now and its the first time I've got to 30 goals in the Premier League so know it's about getting to 30 for the next two or three years. That's the aim.
'That will be his aim too, any player wants to do it on a consistent basis. That's what defines a good player from a great player. He has done amazing this year and he certainly looks like a great player and we will see if he can continue.
'For me it's nice to hit the 30 goal mark, for me personally that was always the target to improve last year's 29.
'Obviously, has done great this year, he deserves the golden boot and I'm looking forward to the competition again next year.'
Kane will now turn his attentions to the World Cup, but has revealed he will have some much needed down time to recharge the batteries.
'We get a week from now until we meet up with the boys. I'm going to the Bahamas, to play a bit of golf and chill, relax the mind,' Kane added.
'I'll stay in shape during the week and look forward to meeting up, training hard and getting ready for the friendlies.
'I think a week is the perfect amount of time. It's not enough time to lose a lot of fitness but it's a good time to refresh mentally.
'Physically I'll do a bit in the gym, not too much, and when we meet up I'll have plenty of time before the World Cup to get into top shape.'

Impossible to happen before 30, 40 to 50 year to come. Nobody has the strength and perseverance to remain discipline day by day all season run. And to be wonderfully stubborn by persecuting the most wanted achievement in all history of football than Ronaldo and Messi are. They're so great that is hard to believe so. I know Salah and Kane are both amazing players, but not close to the stand of Messi and Ronaldo. Let wait for 30 to 50 year to come. Maybe or maybe not. Even though I wish to see more great players for the next generation. Hopefully.
