Harry Kane admitted that his side were under heavy scrutiny ahead of Monday night's clash with Germany, after a pulsating end to England's well-documented goal drought.
The England captain revealed that his team-mates had a 'point to prove' against Hansi Flick's side, having gone six games without a win, before calling on his side to come back stronger in Qatar in November.
Kane scored from 12 yards to give England their third as they fought back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with Germany in front of a sold-out Wembley crowd on Monday night.
On the evening of his 50th game as England captain, Kane told Channel 4: 'The boys have been under pressure with recent results and we all came out here with a point to prove.
'There are lessons we can still learn from the mistakes we made but we scored three goals and I feel like this will put us in a positive mindset ahead of the World Cup.
'We're going to have to be ready come the start of the tournament. Major tournament football is different to any other football you play for England.
'The pressure is high and the concentration has to be high and I feel like we respond well to that.'
The England captain's third put the Three Lions ahead with only seven minutes left to play, before Nick Pope gifted Kai Havertz an equaliser for Germany three minutes from time.
But despite the fact the game was essentially a dead rubber after the hosts' relegation from their Nations League group after a loss to Italy, Kane was still adamant that there was plenty to fight for.
'Look, we're playing Germany at Wembley, no matter what the competition that is always a big game.
'We've upped our game as we've gone along in the last two major tournaments. We dust ourselves down, we know we have to improve but there isn't that much time now with England before that first game.
'We'll go away with our clubs and hopefully everyone goes away fit, strong and ready to come back in November.'

"Jurriën Timber was once again excellent. We actually haven't seen Eden Hazard all game. Just like we didn't see Lewandowski last game."
