Kane's Bayern Munich move within a point of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen

Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala both scored as Bayern Munich secured an important 3-0 win over Hoffenheim on Friday night.

It was a perfect night for Thomas Tuchel's side, who moved one point behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga table.

German youngster Musiala scored goals either side of half-time to ensure the win at the Allianz Arena and extend Bayern's unbeaten run to five games.

Harry Kane led the lane on the night and looked as though he wouldn't add to his Bundesliga tally, until he did so in the final moments of the game.

The England captain collected the ball on the edge of the area, turned neatly, before firing into the back of the Hoffenheim net.

In doing so, Kane equalled Robert Lewandowski's record for the most goals in the first half of a Bundesliga season, which stands at 22.

Things were made harder for the hosts after Grischa Prömel was dismissed for the visitors in the second-half.

The midfielder received a yellow either side of the break before being sent off, leaving his side with a mountain to climb in Munich.

New signing Eric Dier was spotted in the crowds watching the match, after completing a loan move from Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

Prior to the game, Bayern Munich paid tribute to club legend Franz Beckenbauer  after the 78-year-old's death on Sunday.

Beckenbauer's health had gradually declined ever since his son Stephan died in 2015, and since then the iconic Germany player and manager had battled Parkinson's disease, dementia, as well as undergoing heart operations.

The Bundesliga behemoth announced that they would make Beckenbauer's passing with a number of special gestures ahead of kick-off at the Allianz Arena.

The Bayern players warmed up in Beckenbauer's iconic No 5 shirt and wore training jackets from 'Der Kaiser's' era.

Beckenbauer's own song, 'Gute Freunde' played over the stadium's loudspeakers as the squads walked out, and both teams are wearing black armbands for the tie.

Bayern's matchday shirts sport the phrase 'Danke Franz' - or 'thank you Franz' - above their shirt sponsor.

Each club shirt will be signed after tonight's match and auctioned off on the FC Bayern Online Store auction platform from Wednesday, January 17, with the proceeds going to the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation.

Beckenbauer is unanimously viewed as one of football's greatest ever players.

He was part of the West Germany side that lost to England in the 1966 World Cup final.
