Roy Keane believes Anthony Martial is 'not good enough for Manchester United' following his miss during the club's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
With the Red Devils down 1-0 following Virgil Van Dijk's header, Martial rushed through on goal but blasted a fantastic opportunity high and wide.
It proved to be United's best chance of the game, with Mo Salah putting the game to bed in stoppage time to put Liverpool 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
After the game Keane told Sky Sports: 'There was plenty of efforts from United, you're going to get one or two chances. The big opportunities, Fred you're thinking needs to hit the target.
'Martial, to me that sums up his career in a nutshell at Manchester United, you have to hit the target.
'That's why that guy there is not good enough for Man United.'
Patrice Evra agreed adding that Martial should have scored, adding: ''When you're a striker for Man United, these chances have to end up in the back of the net. That's the kind of chance that we don't want him to miss.'
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will be relying on Martial to score the goals even more over the coming months.
His strike partner Marcus Rashford is facing three months on the sidelines with a double stress fracture to the back.

Roy Keane is not qualified to speak about scoring chances. He was a defensive midfielder and hardly scored goals during his time. That was a bouncing ball and he expects Martial to keep the shot down like it's so easy. This wasn't a straightforward opportunity. Blame the midfielders for not providing the service. Look at Mo Salah today. He missed an open chance to score. Why not blame him? Oh wait, his team actually won the game so let's ignore his finishing ability. This is what I don't get with these silly "pundits".
