Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne overtook Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp in the list of all-time Premier League assist on Saturday against Southampton.
Pep Guardiola's men look unstoppable recently having notched 11 goals in their last two matches before the visit of the Saints this weekend. Joao Cancelo opened the scoring for the Blues on 20 minutes with a fine strike before Phil Foden added a second just 12 minutes later.
Just after the interval Riyad Mahrez put the game beyond doubt, netting City's third of the afternoon. World football has become accustomed to seeing Erling Haaland find the back of the net and he would not be denied, adding City's fourth with 25 minutes to go.
The Norwegian's 20th goal of the campaign on October 8 was cause for celebration at the Etihad this afternoon however De Bruyne managed a personal feat of his own in Manchester. His assist for Foden's goal was his 95th in the English top flight.
Last weekend, he moved above Steven Gerrard and David Silva but, after his exploits on Saturday, he moved above Bergkamp into fifth overall. Next in the Belgian playmaker's sights will be Frank Lampard who managed 102 in his career at West Ham, Chelsea and City.
De Bruyne still has some distance to go if he wishes to become the all time goal provider in Premier League history. The current leader is Ryan Giggs who managed 162 assists during his time at Manchester United.

Kdb has 262 assist in his career it may not be as much as messi but he is the highest assisting Midfielder.
Here's the all time list: 1 Messi 371 2 Thomas Muller 290 3 Luis Suarez 279 4 De Maria 269 5 Ronaldo 263 ............ So don't cook numbers that don't exist to push De Bruyne. He's a good player but you guys must never compare him with Messi because he's not yet with the numbers to be compared to him. De Bruyne has earned the right to be compared with the likes of Ozil, Ryan Giggs because even though those two had much better careers than him, he's on the same range of numbers with them.

Where did he make other 140 assist? 🤔🤔 He has 121 for Man City and he's been with the club 6 years and into his 7th year. He's 30 years old now. That means he joined when he was 24 years old. He didn't do anything for Chelsea and he did play too long for his previous club before he joined Man City. He doesn't have more than 40 assists for Belgium, so where did he make the other 100 assists. Don't just cook numbers to bring him closer to Messi. On the all time assists, the second player is Ronaldo on 250+, so where did you get the numbers for De Bruyne

And some fools think he's better than Messi 🤔🤔 shame. Messi is chasing 350 assists and De Bruyne isn't even at 100 yet. This thing of players being on form and people begin to say they are better than a legend is just euphoria. Messi is still doing it for PSG and yes De Bruyne passing is also better but Messi's visio is just too much
