Kiev is preparing for the final between Real Madrid and Liverpool

The highly anticipated Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool will take place in Kiev, and the city are preparing for the big day.

Kiev will host 60,000 fans from all over Europe, including 40,000 from Madrid and Liverpool.

And just like in every final of the Champions League, the hosting city and stadium will be completely armoured with tight security.

On Monday, there was a general rehearsal in the vicinity of the stadium, with volunteers and the Ukrainian military police, who will aim to prevent any terrorist attacks.

The banners of the finalists are already hanging from Kiev's Olympic National Sports Complex, both inside and outside, as well as on some of the most symbolic buildings in the city.

Everything will be ready by the end of the week so the first fans who arrive in Kiev will find the whole city in perfect condition and with an authentic final atmosphere.

The supporters will arrive on Saturday

Real Madrid fans will arrive on the same day as the final, in charter flights that will take off from Madrid in the early morning.

They will congregate 15-20 minutes walking distance away from the stadium while Liverpool fans will be gathered closer to the venue.

In addition, there will be no giant screens due to security reasons, but there will be food and drink stalls, just like in Cardiff.
