Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has been told by manager Jurgen Klopp he has an important role to play this season.
The 19-year-old, who scored twice in a 6-0 pre-season friendly win against Tranmere, could end up saving the Reds boss millions in the transfer window if he fulfils his potential.
He has been lined up to fill the boots vacated by Daniel Sturridge as the team's third-choice centre-forward after Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi, who has just signed a new contract.
However, Klopp wants the player to start developing his all-round game.
'I love the boy, he is a fantastic player, but one of the goals I would have scored,' said Klopp.
'We knew Rhian was a good player before. Why should I play it down? I just don't want to talk after a game about the guy who scored two goals.
'I saw a really good game and Rhian is a fantastic player.
'One hundred per cent [it is a big season] but it depends on him as well. Divock Origi stays which is good news, Bobby Firmino is still there.
'Rhian Brewster is a top striker, he is a top talent and I have told him already that he has an important role this year but how important depends on him.
'We will see. He has to play different positions as well - the centre, wing is possible I think, we will see how we line up, but there will be opportunities for him. I am sure.'

We need at least two more signings. Not major ones but defo a left back. The reason the likes of the ox and Brewster didnt play last season was because they were injured. Whos to say that wont happen again?? The drop off after our first 14 players or so is huge. Thats what we need to fix. Id go for Bertrand as LB. Maybe have a go for Son from Spurs.

my young brother(brewster) should take this opportunity from his manager 's opinion and use it to improve himself because he is already loved by his senior coach.

I always believed our traditional is to blood our academy players but so many coaches has failed us for so many years and hope Klopp is the one that can rebuild back our proud tradition. With current crop of players and giving young players a chance to play it’s a big step to build LFC stronger. Look at Spurs did they buy TOP players for last two years? No, and yet they qualified UCL final and a good position in the league. This year they are buying some players and let’s see how they perform. YNWA ASIA

I remember one Klopp`s interview where he said how he hopes to be Liverpool`s manager when all big talents start knocking on 1. team door, he saw what is coming 3 years ago. I am not angry for lack of transfer business, I am not even in worry cause of that, I believe Liverpool have few amazing talents in Brewster, Jones, Wilson, Gomez, Ki-Jana Hoever, Woodburn, Yasser Larouci, Glatzel, Lewis, Woodburn, Duncan and new boy Sep who are under the best possible manager for their developing Jurgen Klopp. By the way Liverpool 1. team is very young with only Lallana and Millner over 30, all other players are around 26-27 and younger
