Jürgen Klopp voted Germany's manager of the year by the association of German sports journalists (VDS) ahead of Dusseldorf boss Friedhelm Funkel, Frankfurt boss Adi Hütter and Bayern manager Kovac.
Klopp's Liverpool team saw off Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid to win the Champions League, he also led Liverpool to second in the 2018–19 Premier League as they scored 97 points, the third-highest total in the history of the English top division and the most points scored by a team without winning the title.
