Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman complained about a "lack of respect" shown towards him by Allan Nyom after his side's 1-0 defeat at Getafe.
Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman complained about a "lack of respect" during his side's LaLiga defeat away to Getafe, singling out Cameroon defender Allan Nyom in the wake of the Madrid-based club's 1-0 victory on Saturday.
It was Koeman's first loss as Barça boss – Getafe claiming victory courtesy of Jaime Mata's 56th-minute penalty.
It was Getafe's first league win over Spanish giants Barca since November 2011, a run of 16 games.
Koeman, who replaced Quique Setién at the start of the season, was less than impressed with the behaviour of Getafe full-ball Nyom.
Koeman: "We cannot tolerate this behaviour in modern football"
"I told him [Getafe coach José Bordalás] that his number 12 [Nyom] had shown me a lack of respect, he had said two or three very ugly things to me which I won't repeat. He insulted me," Koeman said post-game.
"I told Bordalás that he needs to speak to his player, because we cannot tolerate that type of behaviour in modern football."
On Koeman's comments, Bordalás added: "I'm here to talk about football, not about controversy. I haven't spoken to the boy, I will tomorrow, but I doubt that Nyom would do that, I know him well.
"He's very competitive, but he's a very respectful person. I don't allow bad behaviour among my players but I doubt that Nyom insulted him."
Lionel Messi struck the post and Getafe captain Djené Dakonam was spared from scoring an own goal by the crossbar, however – after starting his reign with back-to-back wins – Koeman has now seen his side pick up a solitary point from their next two outings.
Barça – who have their lowest tally of goals after four LaLiga fixtures since 2015-16 with eight – had 73 per cent possession but managed just one on-target attempt as Getafe conceded 20 fouls in a physical contest.
After Mata converted a spot-kick following a foul by Frenkie de Jong on Dakonam, Koeman said: "I don't know if it was a penalty, it looked like they were looking for it and we fell into the trap. I don't know if we had VAR or not today.
"I don't like to talk about referees, but if you watch the match and see how many fouls they made and how many cards were given out, then you can make your own mind up.
"We knew this was a very difficult ground to come to but we tried to create passages of play and move the ball around quickly and they kept disrupting that with fouls."

i won't be commenting like "real madrid paid the referee", but i honestly don't think the current referees are doing anything right... i think they have a problem with big teams... spurs, liverpool, psg, arsenal, now barca... shoulder tackles are not fouls, but elbows and fists are... the opposition was continuously fouling, but hardly a few got a booking... that nyom guy is a disgrace... he kept fouling the youngsters, and was insulting throughout the match, including koeman... continuous verbal assaults are also straight red, but nyom wasn't sent off... lenglet's foul vs celta was given a red card, but not nyom's foul on messi... even a neutral fan who doesn't know anything would've been a better referee than these referees 🤬🤬🤬

"Suarez is too slow", " Suarez is finished", "Suarez can't dribble", " Suarez is a disgrace", "Suarez stole my wife", " I can't breathe because of Suarez". Now he's gone and Griezmann has been given the center stage, perform will you Frenchman. Suarez might have been slow or whatever, but there's nobody in the Spanish Primera Liga that's better than him as a center forward, NOBODY. Not Griezmann, not Benzema, not Moreno, and not Costa. It's pretty evident from the few games we've played that Barça needs a nine, and not a makeshift center forward. Against Getafe who played dirty, and I'm not surprised they do, the only players who could have ruffled that Getafe defense is Luis Suarez. He might be all some deluded fans think he is but oh boy, Luis Suarez knows how to play dirty. He'll dive, he will simulate, he'll match Nyom's dirty tricks with some of his. With Griezmann we lack that sort of player. That fighter who will do anything thing to win, even to point of biting an opponent. That's who Luis Suarez is. The stage was set for Griezmann to perform, to prove the sale of Suarez was the right one, but just like the transfers over the years done by Barça it left a bad taste in the mouth of many Culers. We've still not properly replaced Neymar, Puyol, Xavi, and Iniesta, but Barça decided to let go of Suarez without a proper replacement. How typical.
