Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has strongly defended striker Nicolas Jackson amid growing scrutiny, insisting the forward has done nothing to warrant criticism.

Speaking after his side’s latest performance, Kompany praised Jackson’s display and highlighted the player’s professionalism in training and competition.

“He played very well,” Kompany said. “I have to say that I noticed since I’ve been here that when everything is going well in the team, there are attempts to single out a player or two without any reason.”

The former Manchester City captain and now head coach of Bayern Munich suggested that such criticism often arises even when a team is performing strongly, stressing that Jackson has remained focused and committed throughout.

“The guy hasn’t done anything wrong. He trained extremely well, and he won the AFCON,” Kompany added, referencing Jackson’s recent success with the Senegal national football team at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jackson has faced periodic scrutiny despite contributing to his team’s attacking efforts this season. Kompany’s comments appear aimed at shielding the Senegalese international from unnecessary pressure while reinforcing his importance to the squad.

The manager’s public backing is expected to boost confidence around the striker as the team continues its campaign, with Kompany emphasizing that Jackson’s work ethic and achievements speak for themselves.
