Marcelino had been forced to work without Geoffrey Kondogbia for the final part of the season, yet on the eve of his return to action, the former Monaco midfielder has confirmed that whenever a team beats Barcelona, it serves as an example to others.

He is, of course, referring to Liverpool's dramatic 4-3 aggregate triumph over the Blaugrana in the Champions League semi-final, with his Valencia side set to do battle with Lionel Messi and co. in Saturday's Copa del Rey final.

"Whenever a team wins against Barcelona, it serves as an example," Kondogbia explained in his pre-match press conference.

"We're at our best, we know our game.

"We're looking at the points where we can hurt Barcelona."

Luis Suarez has come under sizeable criticism for his form this season, especially in the Champions League, yet Kondogbia believes the Uruguayan could make the difference on Saturday.

"Luis Suarez is a very important player for Barcelona, we have to be prepared," he intimated.

"Messi can do harm at any moment.

"We have to work well and prepare properly because we're going against the LaLiga Santander champions."

Los Che haven't actually been to a competitive cup final since 2008, and Kondogbia is firmly in the belief that the Valencia supporters traveling to Seville will make a huge difference.

"We want to thank them for everything," Kondogbia confirmed.

"At the beginning of the season the fans were with us and on Saturday there will be more than 20,000.

"We need the support of the fans to win it, it means something more for us."
