Christophe Galtier has hit out at 'rumours' linking superstar forward Kylian Mbappe with a Paris Saint-Germain exit.
Spanish outlet Marca reported on Tuesday afternoon that the 23-year-old wants to leave the club in January because he feels 'betrayed' by the club's owners.
And Galtier hinted to L'Equipe after Tuesday night's Champions League draw against Benfica that he was frustrated about the timing of the reports so soon before a crucial European tie.
He said: 'I don't know anything. I just know that a rumour became a piece of information and then almost a statement. I haven't seen anything different, I find it surprising that this happens before an important match.
'I've never heard of any discussions. Kylian played a very rhythmic, very intense match. He gave an answer to this rumour. I don't think this rumour has disrupted the preparation of the match.
'I didn't talk about it at all with my players, nor with my staff. We stayed focused on the preparation of the match. I am surprised.
'It's a rumour. Whether it comes out four or five hours before the match, I have the right to be questioned. Who is this rumour for?'
Mbappe, who has 12 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this season, signed a three-year contract extension this summer with a reported weekly wage of £1million and a signing-on fee of £100m.
He scored a penalty just before half-time against Portuguese side Benfica at the Parc des Princes, with Joao Mario netting an equaliser from the spot just after the hour mark to earn the visitors a point. Both sides are on eight points in Group H.
