Kylian Mbappe's spat with France team-mate Olivier Giroud is still threatening to bubble over after the PSG star admitted he 'was affected' by the striker's words in the aftermath of the Bulgaria friendly last week.
Mbappe was reported to be furious after the Chelsea striker came out after the game and claimed that France's front players could have linked up better, while he visibly looked annoyed with Mbappe on the pitch.
L'Equipe claimed that Mbappe, so livid with Giroud, wanted to go public with his response, but was talked out of holding his own press conference.
A few days later, it was then claimed that Mbappe was still simmering despite an apology from Giroud in training, with the pair still not on speaking terms.
And now Mbappe has had his chance to go public on the subject, speaking to the media in a Euro 2020 press conference ahead of the Germany game on Tuesday.
'I spoke with Olivier Giroud,' he said. 'Everyone knows what happened. It is true that I was a little affected by it. But we are not going to make a big deal about it because we are here to represent France, that is the most important thing.
'It is more that he said it publicly than the fact that he said it. I saw him in the dressing room and he didn't say anything to me.'
Despite France winning the warm-up game 3-0, it was clear after the match that the team were not happy with their final pre-Euros warm-up match.
Speaking to the media at the time, the moment that upset Mbappe came when Giroud told reporters: 'Sometimes you make the runs and ball is not arriving. Perhaps we could have found each other better, there it is.'
Didier Deschamps will be desperate for two of his most important players to bury their rift ahead of Tuesday night, in which France face Germany in their toughest group match of the tournament.
The world champions, who are favourites to lift the trophy in a month's time, then face Hungary and Portugal in a difficult Group F.
