The Los Angeles Rams and Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke, celebrated his team’s victory against the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.
Stan Kroenke was present at the SoFi stadium on Sunday night to witness how his team, the Los Angeles Rams, defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 to win Super Bowl LVI. When lifting the Vince Lombardi trophy during the celebrations he said that “in terms of building this stadium? It turned out alright.”
Can he replicate the success with Arsenal?
The SoFi stadium cost around $5.5 billion and is the most expensive sports venue in the world. This was the first season that the LA Rams played in this stadium and they celebrated at home the Super Bowl win on Sunday to culminate an outstanding season, but whether Kroenke can replicate the same success with Arsenal is the bigger question.
This season, the Gunners, who are sixth in the table, have no chance of winning a trophy. Kroenke took over Arsenal in September 2008 and he has yet to win major trophies across all competitions. The American owner has been trying to rebuild the team and bring them back to their glory days. Last summer he spent around £150 million in signings and brought Ben White, Martin Ødegaard and Aaron Ramsey among others.
The Gunners are not having the season that the owner expected and he decided not to open his wallet during the winter transfer window. The people in charge even let go of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left to FC Barcelona, and didn’t bring anyone to replace him.
Also it is rumored that Kroenke’s focus was on the Los Angeles Rams and decided to invest heavily on the NFL roster. His priority was to win his first Super Bowl and he achieved it. Now that he has the Vince Lombardi trophy under his belt, Kroenke can resume his focus on the Premier League club.
Arsenal will not win silverware this season, but they are making a strong push to finish in the top-four and book their ticket for the Champions League. If they are able to achieve that goal then the bosses will have more money to spend during the upcoming summer transfer window with the idea to make the roster very competitive.
