According to a report from Italian media LaRoma24.it, Manchester United's current asking price for Zirkzee has reached 50 million euros.

After Roma's 3-0 away victory over Celtic in the Europa League, the club's sporting director, Massara, flew directly from Glasgow to London with the aim of conducting direct negotiations with Manchester United regarding Zirkzee's transfer.

A report from LaRoma24.it further states that the current transaction method under discussion between the two parties is loan plus mandatory buyout, with the difference lying in the player's transfer fee. Manchester United is asking for 50 million euros (approximately 44 million pounds), which exceeds Roma's affordability. However, with the approval of the Friedkin family, the Red Wolves are willing to offer a bid close to 40 million euros (approximately 35 million pounds), which does not include the annual salary of 5 million euros after tax that needs to be provided to the player.

According to LaRoma24.it, although there are still differences with Manchester United, Roma remains cautiously optimistic about the deal for three reasons. First, the two sides are now in daily dialogue; second, the player has expressed his willingness to transfer; third, Roma is willing to wait until late January to finalize the deal, in order to accommodate Manchester United's need to use Zirkzee for the AFCON, provided that the deal can be completed.

LaRoma24.it also stated that if Roma ultimately fails to sign Zirkzee, their contingency plan B is to sign a center forward and a winger, and currently they are keeping an eye on Lorenzo Lucca, Raspadori, and Gudmundsson.
