Lamine Yamal, seriously affected by racist chants against Muslims in Spain-Egypt

The friendly match between Spain and Egypt at the RCDE Stadium was completely tainted by racist chants by an important sector of the stands. 

During the first half of the match, shouts of "Muslim he who does not bounce" were heard several times and the Spanish Federation was forced to use the public address system to ask them to stop. The referee of the match, the Bulgarian Georgi Kabakov, did not stop the match or activate the anti-racist protocol.

Although the chant was aimed at Egyptian footballers and fans, it is also important to note that the star of the Spanish national team, Lamine Yamal, is Muslim and practices the Islamic religion, so the unfortunate shouts also discriminated against him. The cameras showed the disbelief of the genius from Rocafonda, who was a starter and therefore was on the pitch at the time of the racist episode, regarding what was happening in Cornellà.

The Barça player, substituted at half-time as part of Luis de la Fuente's load management, watched the second half of the match from the bench. He took advantage of the break to shower and change before the restart, during which he was visibly affected by what happened, with a very serious face. In fact, Lamine did not join his teammates when, at the end of the match, the Spanish players performed the lap of honour on the pitch to greet the fans.

'Cadena SER' also explained that Lamine Yamal left the RCDE Stadium facilities "from the back", "accompanied by a member of security" and "with a face down to the ground". Journalist Javier Herráez reported that the winger, who had arrived at the stadium with enthusiasm and desire to enjoy the match, was very affected.

"The image of Lamine has been bleak. It has ended up in dust," added Juanma Castaño on 'Cadena COPE'. As it could not be otherwise, the racist chants against Muslims by the Spanish fans hurt the Barça player, who did not make public statements about it. In fact, the attacker usually posts images of his matches on Instagram shortly after them, but at the moment there is no trace of Spain-Egypt on his social media.
