Chelsea rubber-stamped the deal on Monday that will bring Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge — with the new manager set for a lucrative bonus if the club stay in the Champions League.
As reported by Sportsmail last week, Lampard is likely to sign a three-year contract, worth around £4million a year, with Chelsea hopeful of announcing his arrival from Derby by Wednesday morning at the latest.
It is understood there are a number of incentives linked to the deal, including a bonus for sealing Champions League qualification, which would push it closer to £5m.
It looks certain Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer, will be in place when most first-team players start pre-season training on Friday.

it's a gamble I personally think will pay off handsomely... arguably Chelsea have the best academy in Europe and it time to put someone who believe in youngster and also know the club inside out... adore by the fans and respected by the playing body... his work is done...

Two hottest and most demanding managerial seats in premier league is undoubtedly Chelsea and Man Utd , and Lampard should have this at the back of his mind while taking up the Chelsea job , every true football fan will want him succeed at Standford Bridge including myself because he was such a delight to watch during his hay days , but in midst of that , we know it's not always rosy as expected , should things not go as we would have loved it for Lampard , how many of Chelsea and other fans will still be on the side of Standford legend , and will Chelsea owner be patience enough to wait on Lampard ?? However, let's just be optimistic about his success.

Say whatever you want it won’t change anything,he is the man who will lead the club next season,l may not have wanted Sarri to go but he did on his own without a push because of the ban and that Hazard is gone. He may not win much as haters in here want to see that happening but he will bring in many of our youngsters into the mainstream and he will harvest the best and let the worst leave. He is definitely the man to rebuild with local material and making it look good and be on demand as that in the market and by the time the ban is lifted the club will be knowing which areas need external reinforcement and by then the backbone of the club would have set in and ready to go for the next 7-10 years. My opinion.
