Frank Lampard insists he has no issue with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly speaking to his team after every game.
Boehly entered the dressing room after Chelsea's third successive defeat against Brighton on Saturday, and reportedly told the players that their performances this season had been 'embarrassing', while also stressing he had spent £600m in less than a year and expected more from the team.
Speaking before Lampard at Chelsea's pre-match press conference prior to their Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga revealed that Boehly's dressing room appearance was far from a one-off as he spoke to the players every match.
Addressing Boehly's hands-on approach, Lampard was adamant that it is not a concern for him.
'I am comfortable with that (Boehly going into the changing room regularly),' Lampard said.
'There is maybe some criticism of our old owner of not coming to games and being around that wasn't always true.
'I remember moments as a player of owners first coming into dressing rooms, I remember being happy. I don't think it's a bad thing.
'I had my things to say, if an owner wants to come in and be positive and speak to the players, they can do that. No problem with that, it shows passion and that's the first thing that I like.'
Chelsea supporters were seen venting their frustration at Boehly in the Chelsea directors' box on Saturday after the final whistle following a loss that left them 11th in the Premier League table.
Lampard understands the growing anger among the club's fanbase, and feels the passion of the fans and Boehly can help to take the club forward after a difficult last 12 months at Stamford Bridge.
'I think passion goes both ways. Fans show passion and I don't think the ownership would be involved in the club and expect anything else,' Lampard added.
'We've been successful in the last 20 years which means you want more of it -passionate owners who want to make a difference. We're in a early part of that process, people always question everything in the beginning.
'Passion is normal, we can all be passionate together.'

This might actually cause anxiety 😬 and more confusion in the dressing room. I can't imagine my MD coming to my team meetings every week 😩.

Boahly, Lampard and Kepa team. You know the right thing and will not do, so will continue to lose matches every day. Kepa is good in keeping but not tall to stop angle balls. Looking at Madrid second goal and Brighton two goals all. This are the balls a goal keeper will stop and they praise him but for him those ones are goals and you are saying he is the best. why wouldn't you loose matches always?

Thomas Tuchel was absolutely right about these American business men. They know nothing about football. Prepare for relegation CFC.
