According to the latest from BFM Marseille journalist Anthony Aubès, Olympique de Marseille target Aymeric Laporte (30) will imminently terminate his contract with current club Al-Nassr ahead of a potential move to Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
La Provence reported several weeks ago that the Phocéen club were in advanced negotiations to sign the Spanish international, who moved to Suadi Arabia in 2023 for a reported €30m.
Marseille had previously attempted to sign the defender in January, and have since maintained contact with the defender.Laporte has not been picked for Spain’s final four Nations League clash against France in June.
The move was previously dependant on OM securing direct Champions League qualification, which was secured during the final two matches of the season with wins over Le Havre (3-1) and Rennes (4-2). Preparations are underway for next season’s return to European football, after Marseille confirmed that Roberto De Zerbi will be staying at the club this summer and is aligned with president Pablo Longoria and sporting director Medhi Benatia.
