In a Premier League match between Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, Brighton goalkeeper Verbruggen made an error just 4 minutes into the game, allowing Lavia to poke the ball into the net and score his first goal in a Chelsea shirt.
Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton in summer 2023 for a reported fee of up to €62.1 million, but injuries limited him to just one appearance that season. Since his arrival, the 22-year-old had gone 45 matches without scoring for the Blues, recording only one assist.
After three seasons and 46 appearances, Lavia has finally broken his goal drought, scoring his maiden goal for Chelsea.
