Al-Hilal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for £34million.
The Serbia international, who Premier League clubs have long admired, is set to earn roughly £17m net per season in Saudi Arabia.
He still needs to undertake his medical this week but it is understood that the two clubs have agreed on the transfer.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has been vocal about his eagerness to keep the 28-year-old but the player has angled for a move since January.
Now the star's wishes are on the cusp of coming true, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The move will no doubt send shockwaves through Italian football as Milinkovic-Savic has established himself as one of Serie A's best midfielders.
Over eight seasons in the capital, the colourful character has drawn comparisons with the likes of Yaya Toure for his completeness as a midfielder.
Seen as one of the best midfielders of the last decade in Serie A, he lifted the 2018/19 Coppa Italia with Lazio, opening the scoring in the 82nd minute as they went on to win 2-0 over Atalanta.
While he consistently chips in with goals - he has 69 goals in 341 games for Lazio and scored 11 last season - he equally contributes to the defensive phases of play, and standing at 6ft4in he is a domineering character in breaking up attacks.
In 2018/19, he was named Serie A's best midfielder.
In the past, he has been a target for Liverpool and Arsenal, while Manchester United went in pursuit of him last summer.
With only a year left on his Lazio deal, he leaves the Stadio Olimpico on the cheap. President Lotito recently told Il Messaggero that he once rejected a a £119m bid from AC Milan for the midfielder.
If the transfer gets fully over the line, he will once again lock horns with Marcelo Brozovic, who recently left Inter Milan for Saudi club Al-Nassr for £15m.
