Danny Ings scored his 10th goal in 11 games as Southampton came from behind to inflict a first defeat of the year on Leicester and extend their excellent run to five wins in six unbeaten games.

14' GOAL! Leicester 1-0 Southampton (Praet)
It comes from a quick counter-attack by the hosts, with Vardy released in-behind the Saints defence down the left wing and the striker looks up and plays a superb ball across goal to Praet, who taps the ball past McCarthy and into the back of the net from just a couple of yards out.
19' GOAL! Leicester 1-1 Southampton (Armstrong)
The visitors have looked strong in attack so far today and thanks to a deflected Armstrong strike, they are back in the game.
Long switches play by crossing to Armstrong down the right, who cuts inside and tries to curl the ball into the far corner of the net, but it takes a big deflection off Maddison, which fools Schmeichel and sends it into the other corner of the net.
42' OFF THE CROSSBAR! Ings nearly scores
Armstrong gets forward down the right and whips a superb low cross into the box which Ings meets at the near post and flicks it towards goal, it beats Schmeichel and then strikes the top of the crossbar, before bouncing down onto the line, before Leicester clear the danger behind for a corner.
44' AGAIN! Ings hits the crossbar
Almost another for Southampton, but once again the woodwork denies them!
They have a shot blocked in the box and the rebound the falls to Ings around 20 yards out and he fires a first-time shot towards goal, that again beats Schmeichel, but cannons against the bar and away from danger.
48' CLOSE! Soyuncu makes goal-line clearance
Stephens almost puts Saints ahead just minutes into the second half!
Soyuncu had to the clear the ball off the line after Stephens was unmarked at the far post and tried to poke the ball home from just a couple of yards out.
Schmeichel had tried to come out and punch it clear and missed.
63' VAR cancelled refrees' penalty decision due to offside
Soyuncu brings Long down in the box just as he was about to fire a shot towards goal from close range. The striker raced through after a quick counter and Armstrong found him in plenty of space, he just had the keeper to beat, but Soyuncu dived in and brought him down.
The officials are checking to see if Long was onside when the pass was played through, it looks like a very tight decision.
Long was marginally offside and the penalty is overturned, as is a yellow card that was awarded to Soyuncu. It looks like a very close call from the replays.
67' OFFSIDE! Iheanacho's goal disallowed
Leicester go up the other end and have a chance of their own, with Iheanacho slotting the ball into the back of the net from close range after a cross from Chilwell, but the striker was in an offside position and the flag goes up straight away.
There is a quick VAR check, which confirms that the decision was correct.
81' GOAL! Leicester 1-2 Southampton (Ings)
It's a lovely quick counter by the Saints, with Adams feeding Ings who races past the Leicester defence and then only has Schmeichel to beat, who manages to get something on it, but he can't stop it from flying into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
89' OFFSIDE! Evans' goal disallowed
Evans fires the ball into the back of the net, with a header following a Maddison free-kick into the box. However, the centre-back doesn't celebrate as he knows it was a tight call as to whether he was offside or not. The flag hasn't gone up from the linesman, but VAR will take a look.
VAR has ruled the goal out for offside, Evans was slightly ahead of the last Southampton defender as the ball came into the box and a free-kick for offside is awarded to Southampton instead. That was a tight call.

leicester's 9-0 didnt help them much in table but southampton's 2-1 is helping them very much at the end quality matters not the quantity

Southampton have really turned their season around and this result is the prime example of that. They're becoming a real unit now, and they look nowhere near their early relegation form.
