Manchester United have confirmed that Leny Yoro (18) has resumed individual training after undergoing a foot operation over the summer. The English club have warned that his debut is not imminent with the young centre-back still needing to pass some significant milestones before he can make his first official appearance.

The France U23 star joined United over the summer from Lille OSC. The teenager had become one of the most highly sought-after prospects in French football after making his debut for the club in the 2021/22 campaign at the age of 16. And it was thought that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid both coveted what could be a transformative talent.

Last season was a breakthrough campaign with Yoro being essential to Lille’s fourth-place finish and a run to the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League where Les Dogues were eliminated by Aston Villa during a penalty shootout.
