The Polish striker highlighted his former coach's legacy and considered that he did "a great job" for Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski gave an extensive interview to the BBC in which he discussed various topics about his career and his time at Barça. He emphasized that he is learning a lot from the youth, but also took the opportunity to heap praise on Xavi Hernández and his work as the Barça coach.

Lewandowski was one of the new faces at the start of Xavi's project on the Barça bench, and the forward wanted to express his gratitude for the treatment he received from him, which facilitated his adaptation to the club and his surroundings.

"He was a very important person for me when I came to Barcelona, during the first few months and also afterward. I played against him as a player, and then he became my coach. I tried to help him and saw that he had something special to be a great coach. What he did for the club during that difficult time was a great job. Sometimes people don't think about this, but I think he loves the club. It's also thanks to him that Barça is what it is today," Lewandowski said of Xavi's legacy with the team.

It's worth remembering that Lewandowski was one of the players who dedicated a heartfelt message to Xavi after it was confirmed that he would no longer be in charge of Barça, a gesture of gratitude for the two seasons they shared as Blaugrana players.

"It has been an honor to play for your team, Xavi! You will always be part of Barça's great history, and I am very proud to have written an incredible chapter of my life with you at this great Club. Thank you and good luck, Xavi!" Lewandowski wrote to Xavi.

Xavi Hernández coached Lewandowski in a total of 95 matches for Barça, in which the Pole scored 59 goals and provided 17 assists. Now the Terrassa native is still waiting for his chance to manage a team again and continue his coaching career.
