Week 10 started yesterday with Tijuana defeating Pachuca 3-2 but for the league announced today the rest of the games will be played behind closed doors.

The 10th week of the Clausura 2020 started on Friday in Tijuana with the home team defeating Pachuca 3-2 and that game was played with public in the stands. After analyzing the situation across the world and the cancelation of many live sports due to the pandemic of coronavirus, the Liga MX announced earlier today that the rest of the games this weekend are going to be played behind closed doors.

The entire week the president of the Liga MX Enrique Bonilla said that there was no risk in having the games open to the public this weekend. However, the coronavirus is spreading quickly in the neighboring country, the United States, and before the games started on Saturday the league announced no public should be allowed inside the stadiums across the country.

The home games this weekend in Mexico were going to be held in the Alfonso Lastra, Universitario, Nou Camp, AKRON, Nemesio Diez, TSM and Aztec but all of these stadiums will be closed to the public.

Also it was confirmed that the women’s and youth leagues would be played behind closed doors to prevent the coronavirus from spreading in Mexico. Before the announcement was made on Saturday, the game between Cruz Azul and Pumas in the women’s league was going on so that was the last match that was open to the public.
