Jesse Lingard will be sidelined for a month after knee surgery.
The former Manchester United star shared a photograph of him swaddled under sheets in a hospital bed with two fingers thrown up in a peace sign.
He completed a surprise move to South Korean side FC Seoul in February but it has been a rickety start.
Despite a hero's welcome, Lingard was criticised for his performances in his first three games and has missed their last three with his injury.
His manager, Kim Gi-dong, has confirmed that he will out for a month after a procedure on his meniscus on Friday.
'Back stronger,' 'positive vibes', and 'successful surgery,' Lingard captioned photos from his hospital bed.
Lingard, 31, had initially been expected to return without surgery but suffered a setback in training, which prompted the club's decision to send him under the knife.
Across his three cameos so far, Lingard has managed 103 minutes and is yet to find the net or assist a team-mate.
His home debut set an attendance record for the K-League as 51,670 fans turned out to watch FC Seoul's derby game against Incheon United.
Replica Lingard number ten shirts have flown off the shelves, with the club struggling to meet the demand, and a designated ‘Lingard Zone’ was set-up on the stadium concourse ahead of his debut.
His manager handed him a stinging rebuke just three games into his Seoul career.
After Lingard came on against Jeju, Kim said: 'Even though he came on as a substitute, he didn't work hard and avoided tussle.
'The name value has no meaning on the pitch. I will tell him this exactly.'
Lingard appeared to hit back on social media.
He took the high road, sharing a quote that read: 'I can't lie, this s*** gets overwhelming but I just keep pushing.'
In his own words in the Instagram caption, he added: 'Accept what it is, let go of what it was and have faith in what it will be. P.S. we back on the grass.'
He still has a long time to come back from injury and make an impact this campaign as the South Korean season runs from March to November.
