In the 4th round of the Premier League, Manchester United lost 0-1 at home to Manchester City, who played with ten men. After the match, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was interviewed by Sky Sports.
What do you think of their goal? You were clearly central to that decision, battling for possession with your Argentina national teammate Enzo.
I think that goal was definitely offside. And I completely don't understand the current rules. He was there. I lunged at him because he was directly in front of me. So because of that, Haaland at the back post was completely unmarked. But... I'm trying to stay calm now, I want to control my emotions.
Is it hard to do that? Is it very difficult to stay calm right now?
It's extremely difficult. It's really extremely difficult, because you lost the game, lost the derby, and dropped three points at home. And every season, the refereeing organization comes to our club and spends an hour, an hour and a half explaining the rules to us, and they look so confident when they explain. Yet in an actual match, five or six officials can make such a mistake in the Premier League, which is simply unacceptable. This is the best league in the world, it brings together the best teams and top players globally. And now we have to go home with this huge injustice and accept defeat.

biased people will be taking only about the goal. and happy for the red card. but Burno should also be given red or atleast yellow for fouling and kicking even after Foden is down. don’t blame too much var for giving goals. not sure in which season, Burno did the same thing. he was on offside and chased a ball long way and at last he left the ball for onside player and it led to a goal in Manchester derby
