Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent record in the early weeks of the Premier League season thanks to Saturday's 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Mohamed Salah, the Golden Boot winner last term, scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half to net his second of the new campaign - a precise curling finish from Roberto Firmino's assist.
Firmino had already been superbly denied by Mat Ryan by that stage, but the Australian was not given the thorough examination he might have expected at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp's men never looked likely to relinquish their lead, however, as Brighton threatened only sporadically, allowing new goalkeeper Alisson and his back four to pick up a third straight clean sheet to kick off 2018-19.
Liverpool began brightly and within 15 minutes had seen Ryan pull off a sensational save to keep out Firmino's downward header and Trent Alexander-Arnold curl a free-kick against the crossbar.
The Reds soon took the lead as James Milner robbed Yves Bissouma high up the field and the ball was worked to the right from Sadio Mane to Firmino to Salah, whose first-time finish glanced in off the far post via Ryan's fingertips.

Fantastic performance from Liverpool though we should have scored more due to the fact we had so many chances.... A sloppy game by our mighty Reds. Salah missed too many chances. mane, Keita went a bit slow today. Credit to the defenders, they did a tremendous job there with the keeper. Its time for us to step up and show the rest our real gengen pressing game. But the most important thing, we got 3 points and top of the league. Allez! Allez! Allez! p.s: Brighton showed us, the win last weekend on Man United was not just luck!! haha. Brighton is a better team than Man United. period.

It wasn't a great performance but just enough to clinch a win. Keita was good initially but later got exposed by their defence, Firmino still seems a little unfit. Mané's movement was good but passing was terrible, Salah was good but his coordination with Mané and Firmino wasn't up to the mark in the 2nd half. Meanwhile Alisson was given a fuel charge with a huge Anfield chant (wouldn't blame him, even I would get carried away if a crowd of 1000 cheered my name for just one chip over the head). Overall, Wijnaldum and Alisson stole the show

Damn, I would never thought Liverpool will have 3 clean sheets already. If they can keep defensive solidity going and still play attacking football then they gonna be frightening.
