Liverpool 'interested in transfer for Coutinho' - but only on one condition

Liverpool are open to the idea of re-signing Philippe Coutinho - but only for a cut-price transfer fee, according to reports from Spain.

Coutinho left the Reds in 2018 for £142million but has seen his stock fall dramatically over the past season as he has slipped down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona signed Antoine Griezmann on Friday to pile further pressure on the Brazilian.

There are even claims that Barcelona are ready to give Griezmann the number seven shirt, which is currently worn by Coutinho.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Liverpool are among the clubs interested in offering the Brazilian an olive branch.

The only caveat is they are not willing to pay anywhere near the £142million they received from Barcelona for the midfielder back in January 2018.

Barcelona are reportedly open to the idea of selling Coutinho, despite the Brazilian's agent claiming he has the club's word they are not looking to part company with the former Reds mans.

Mundo Deportivo adds that Barcelona would rather sell Coutinho to Paris Saint-Germain as they could in theory use him as a make-weight to re-sign Neymar.

But Coutinho would rather return to the Premier League, where he has had much previous success.
