Liverpool 4-0 Barca (4-3 agg): HISTORIC! Reds reach UCL final & send Barca home

Barcelona's lead gave Liverpool little chance, but Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum had other ideas as the Reds reached the final.

Doubles from Divock Origi and substitute Georginio Wijnaldum fired Liverpool into their second consecutive Champions League final as Barcelona collapsed to an improbable 4-0 humiliation at Anfield.

Facing a daunting 3-0 deficit, Origi made light of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino's absence from the Liverpool forward line by poaching a seventh-minute opener.

Jurgen Klopp's side kept the contest at a pace frenetic enough that Barcelona were rarely allowed to settle and Wijnaldum's quickfire brace before the hour had the locals in raptures.

Almost an equaliser for Barca! Shaqiri concedes possession, and Vidal pounces, laying it off for Messi.  He exchanges passes with Roberto and then lets rip with a low effort, but it goes just wide of the right-hand post.

54' GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Barcelona (Wijnaldum)

A mistake from Alba allows the Reds in, and the subsequent cross falls to Wijnaldum – on as a sub for the injured Robertson – who drills home. Ter Stegen really should have done better, but was unable to keep it out.

56' GOAL! Liverpool 3-0 Barcelona (Wijnaldum)

Shaqiri floats in a fantastic cross, and the substitute is there to meet it with a brilliant header, sending his effort right into the top corner, giving Ter Stegen no chance. The comeback is complete!

ORIGI GETS ANOTHER, IT’S 4-3! Brilliant thinking by Alexander-Arnold, who takes a quick corner that catches Barca cold. Origi is not caught out, though, and sends a fantastic first-time finish into the roof of the net.

Semedo got in behind Gomez, and passed the ball back towards Roberto. But just as he was about to make contact, Liverpool’s centre-back gets across and clears.
