Liverpool moved back to within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester City after battling past Burnley at Anfield.
Match Report
Liverpool fought back from a goal down to claim a 4-2 win over Burnley and move back to within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side eased to a 3-1 victory over Watford on Saturday to turn up the heat on Liverpool, who had drawn four of their previous six league matches.
The pressure was increased when Ashley Westwood scored straight from a corner on Sunday, but Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane each netted twice to secure the comeback, despite a late Johann Gudmundsson goal amid difficult conditions on Merseyside.
Anfield was stunned after only six minutes when Westwood's corner from the left curled all the way into the net, although Alisson was furious it was allowed to stand after claiming he had been blocked by three Burnley players on the line.

6' GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Burnley (Westwood)
WESTWOOD GIVES BURNLEY THE LEAD! 1-0! What a start for the visitors! The Clarets win a corner and the midfielder scores his first goal for the club directly, drifting it in at the far post from the left flank, beyond everyone in the box! What a goal!
19' GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Burnley (Firmino)
FIRMINO EQUALISES FOR LIVERPOOL! 1-1! It’s an absolute muddle from Heaton and Tarkowski on the line as Salah and Wijnaldum execute a one-two for the former to slot a square ball in for his fellow striker to bundle over the line. Absolute confusion from the Burnley keeper and defender there.
29' GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Burnley (Mane)
MANE GIVES LIVERPOOL THE LEAD! 2-1! Lallana makes a great defensive press to block a lazy attempted clearance from the visitors and the rebound falls to Salah. The Egypt international goes down to a slide tackle but the ball is pushed to his fellow forward who curls a volley into the top-right corner. Lovely stuff from the hosts.
67' GOAL! Liverpool 3-1 Burnley (Firmino)
FIRMINO BAGS A BRACE! 3-1! The Brazilian notches a second following a horrendous error from Heaton. The keeper’s deliver goes straight to Salah who races into the box. A slide tackle takes him down and as before, the loose ball is bounced on by his team-mate simply fires in from close range.
90' GOAL! Liverpool 3-2 Burnley (Guðmundsson)
GUDMUNDSSON PULLS ONE BACK FOR BURNLEY! 3-2! A kerfuffle in the Liverpool box sees an attempted clearance from Vydra fall back to the striker who taps it wide for his fellow substitute to drill in at the right post.
90+3' GOAL! Liverpool 4-2 Burnley (Mane)
MANE AT THE DOUBLE! 4-2! That will surely seal the win for Liverpool as the striker brings up a half-century of goals for the club! He meets a delivery from Sturridge near the edge of the box, dinks it around Heaton and clips it into the back of the net.

Why Salah isn’t scoring goal??! Right now he is the key man of Liverpool, all defender's eyes always on him, they just want to stop him and that's why Mane is scoring more goals bcz he is feeling free in field, but Mane is too selfies for scoring goals...He is just damn Selfies😏 But still one hand on Trophy🤘 #Ynwa

Great performance from Liverpool today. Burnley tried but could not survive the onslaught of the deadly Liverpool attack. The performance of the referee has some questions. Notwithstanding, it's an entertaining game. Liverpool still firmly in the race.

Salah didn't scored yet he was involved in first three goal of Liverpool. Those who have watched must have seen. For those who are criticising him by seeing scoresheet Need to watch highlights.

What a game to keep up in the title race, wonderful performances by Firmino and Mane, but I’m a little worried about Salah. If we are to keep pace with City, we need him at top form, now is not the time for him to slip. But great performance nevertheless from the reds. Only 1 point behind. Burnley also our on a great performance but I think their first goal should’ve been disallowed. They had the spirit to score right at the end but luckily Mane killed of any chances of a comeback. YNWA...

1. Roberto Firmino has now scored 10+ goals in all four of his Premier League seasons with LFC, the best 100% such record of any player for the club in the competition. 2. Sadio Mane has become the fifth Liverpool player to score in six consecutive Premier League home appearances, after Michael Owen, Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and Mohamed Salah 3. Roberto Firmino has been directly involved in 100 goals in all competitions for LFC under Jurgen Klopp (63 goals, 37 assists), more than any other player in that time. 4. YNWA!!! 🔥

People are acting like Salah was just suddenly going to score 50 goals a season like Messi and Ronaldo. Sorry but this is the premier league, after 1 crazy standout season you get found out and eventually your numbers drop. Remember Mata, he was tearing it up in his first 2 seasons but suddenly teams found out how to stop him. Same is happening for Salah. BPL isnt La Liga where the same players can get away with pulling off crazy feats every time. Number depreciate cos it's a league where you are found out.

You are obviously a Salah fan n nt a Liverpool fan. Twice in the game I saw Mane set up Salah to score. For the 3rd goal Salah could easily have set up Mane to score but he decided to go solo. Thank God the deflection fell to Firminho. Also why are u bothered if it is Mane or Firminho Dat is scoring? Are they not scoring for the same Liverpool.
