Liverpool FC are reportedly considering an ambitious move for teenage winger Yan Diomande as they look toward a long-term replacement for talisman Mohamed Salah on the right flank.
The 19-year-old winger, currently starring for RB Leipzig, has emerged as a target for the Premier League giants, though any deal is expected to come at a steep price. Leipzig are believed to value the highly rated attacker at around £87 million ($116m), a figure that reflects both his potential and growing influence in the Bundesliga.
Diomande has attracted attention across Europe with his pace, direct running, and creativity in the final third, qualities that Liverpool view as ideal for their attacking system should they eventually need to reshape their frontline.
Despite the speculation, sources close to the player insist that no agreement has been reached at this stage.
“As it stands nothing is agreed. The only thing we currently know is that Yan is determined to help Leipzig finish in the top four before then focusing on the World Cup with Ivory Coast,” a source close to Diomande’s camp said.
“There is no denying the interest, nobody has. But let’s see how the coming months pan out.”
For now, the teenager’s focus remains firmly on club duties with Leipzig and international ambitions with Ivory Coast national football team, while Liverpool continue to monitor the situation as they plan for the future beyond Salah.
