While you couldn't take your eyes off Liverpool's blistering attacking prowess on Friday night, some eagle-eyed fans noticed a bizarre moment during the encounter with Huddersfield .
The Reds were cruising to victory over their already-relegated opponents at Anfield when a pigeon was seen motionless on the pitch.
Jurgen Klopp's men were 3-0 up at the time thanks to first-half goals from Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but it was the second-half incident that had some supporters talking.
Daniel Sturridge, given a rare start by manager Jurgen Klopp following an injury to Roberto Firmino, was seen reacting to the unfortunate situation during the second half.
Social media accounts made light of the situation, some mocking striker Sturridge while others directed their tongue-in-cheek criticism towards his team-mates.
One wrote: "Looks to be a dead Pigeon on the pitch - he's already done more at Anfield than Moreno this season."
Another said: "Sturridge's shot was so bad it killed a bird."
