Liverpool name price for Harry Wilson as Newcastle & Aston Villa eye transfer

Liverpool will slap a £25m price tag on Harry Wilson - after manager Jurgen Klopp promised him game time.

The Reds boss is keen to fight off strong interest in his young star, and has told the Wales international in one-on-one talks that he will be given an expanded role this season if he stays at Anfield.

And if he feels a move to a rival Premier League club where he will be given a starring, central role is too good an opportunity to miss, then Liverpool will consider any formal offers.

The fee, though, would need to reflect his status as a rising British star, and that would mean only bids close to the £25m mark would be acceptable.

Newcastle have maintained a strong interest in the Welshman throughout the summer, with new boss Steve Bruce putting him on his wish list. Villa made contact with the Reds early in the window, and will remain in touch.

The decision could ultimately lie with Wilson, and whether the offer of game time - and the chance to prove he is capable of grasping a long term future at Anfield - is enough to persuade him to stay.
