Liverpool have endured a difficult season after a big summer of change at Anfield
Now out of the Champions League, Liverpool have six crucial matches to secure qualification for next season's elite European competition. Arne Slot remains under significant pressure after patience among Reds supporters waned throughout their dour Premier League title defence.
Liverpool make the short journey to face Everton on Sunday (2pm kick-off) for their first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Reds can reduce the deficit to the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa after returning to winning ways last time out against Fulham.
This summer looks to be a crucial one for Liverpool as they look to stage another rebuild with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson leaving.
Mirror Football has rounded up the latest news surrounding Liverpool.
Isak sends reminder
Alexander Isak believes he is edging closer to his best as he offered support to stricken teammate Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman suffered a ruptured Achilles during the midweek Champions League exit to PSG. It was the first start for the Swede since he broke his leg against Tottenham Hotspur in December.
"Obviously I was out for a long time and I've been working hard to get back," he said. "That's pretty much every rehab — some are a bit more complicated than others. But it was a difficult injury and it took a lot of hard work and long days to get here.
"I'm very happy to be back out there. I mean it's never easy being out for a long time. But I feel like I'm getting there and hopefully we can get the results as well."
"Obviously we're all gutted for [Ekitike's] injury," Isak continued. "It's very unfortunate for him and for the team as well. We're all behind him, supporting him."
Quansah loving football again after Liverpool exit
Former Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has claimed that he is back loving football again after signing for Bayer Leverkusen.
The England international endured a topsy-turvy final season at Anfield before completing his move to the Bundesliga. Quansah found playing time hard to come by on Merseyside as he failed to cement a starting berth under Slot.
He said: "I’ve really loved it, to be honest. It’s been refreshing for me. I’ve started loving football again, being able to play week in, week out against some of the best teams in the world, showing what I’m capable of, what I can give to this team and to the fans as well. I’ve really enjoyed it so far.”
“It’s never easy moving to a different country. I think coming from the pressure of being at Liverpool, it’s not easy to come away from such a big club and try to build your own career off the back of being at one place for 17 years.
"It’s never easy, but I’m happy it’s gone well so far."

Some players think they can perform in any team they go, but mind you it’s very difficult, the way of playing and the formation and most of all your mentality because all are not Messi or CR7.
