Liverpool would be open to selling Harvey Elliott for £40million as Borussia Dortmund circling around the youngster.
Elliott has been on the books at Anfield for a number of years having burst onto the scene as a teenager with Fulham. The 21-year-old gradually became more regular under Jurgen Klopp, enjoying his most productive season in a Reds’ shirt last season.
This season though its been a different story under Arne Slot. A serious ankle injury has halted his ambitions but he's only been used sporadically since returning in November. He's made just nine appearances in all competitions this term and hasn’t started a Premier League game.
Liverpool are having to consider their options and would ask for a fee of between £35m and £40m for a player who is unlikely to be short of admirers but is down the pecking order at Anfield.
The German side keen to offer him a new opportunity, reports The Sun. Dortmund has proven to be an environment where young players thrive - Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham among those to profit.
Brighton are also among those at the front of the queue should Elliott look to move on. Liverpool have shown themselves capable of making huge profits on players and the attacker would be another example. The Seagulls have been shrewd in the market and would likely see huge value for money in a player who has his peak years ahead of him.
Elliott is also operating in an area of the team where there is huge competition. The England U21 star has often played in the front three, but equally can drop into midfield, but Slot has several established names as part of the first-team picture.
Arne Slot has addressed the limited minutes being handed to Elliott but confessed his injury means he will take time to hit top form. He said: “I agree with you he’s a talented player. He’s been this for us for so long. In recent weeks he comes in quite a lot and gets his minutes over there, but like it is for him, like it is for all the others, they are in competition with many other good players as well."
The Dutch manager also added: "In this league, in this tempo, in this intensity, and the quality we have, the other teams have as well, it is not so easy to come back and be at your best immediately."
Elliott rose through the academy at Fulham and at the time of his debut for the west London was the youngest Premier League player ever. Liverpool forked out £4.3m to bring him to Anfield following a tribunal. Since then he has since played 128 times for the Reds, scoring 11 goals.

If we sold Carvalho who was better than him why not Elliot who does not look he can improve from what he is now.He is injury prone like Jack Wiltshire.Sell Elliot for the sake of the team. And get Buemo from Brentford.

Liverpool is making grave mistake to sell Elliott. He will be one of the best player in England. His style reminds me of MU’s Rodney. Pls don’t sell him.
