IF I was Jurgen Klopp — or his likely successor, Arne Slot — I’d be on the phone to Michael Owen asking if he’d come in for sessions with Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguayan has every physical attribute needed to be a world-class striker but just needs to discover a cool head in front of goal.
Nunez has missed more big chances than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues — and if he’d scored a few more of them it might have been the difference between Liverpool winning the title or not.
He’s not the only Liverpool player guilty of missing a lot of chances.
Mo Salah, who seems to have switched off and mentally left Anfield already, has squandered plenty too.
I’d persevere with Nunez, as composure in front of goal can be learnt.
He needs something of a split personality, showing aggression outside the box, then switching to cool-headed predator mode to take his chances.
Former Reds striker Owen is one of the coolest finishers I’ve ever seen — and that’s why I’d give him a ring.
Nunez has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season but has also hit the woodwork nine times in the Prem - four more than any other player.
Liverpool will hope Slot is the man to get Nunez firing with the Dutchman poised to be confirmed as Klopp's successor.
Negotiations with Holland giants Feyenoord are understood to have been finalised.
Slot won the Eredivisie last season and won the KNVB Cup last week.

Quite an amazing suggestion and interesting too. Coz could a legend like Owen able to do this job well ? Sometime, its the mindset of a striker, whether he has the believe in himself or not. He has all the skills and body fitness and playing absolutely well till the winning of the league cup. What he is facing now is the chaos the whole team had encountered after they have retained the league cup and Klopp’s announcement of leaving the club. The Reds’ performance was at it’s peak then, and it is not convincing to say that announcement has no impact on the running of the club. I don’t know the reason behind the management decided to announce the news at that moment, or maybe they have estimated that all the players could act as usual and up keep the spirit ?

jokes on you... Those big chances missed were provided by those midfielders but he and Salah squandered them...😢😢😢
I thought you'll have the brain to talk about the ones Salah has provided for all of the front players

Did he say anything wrong here? and you are care talking about his career yes even in that Watford then he is a good finisher far better than this Nunez and Salah of today, so yes he is very correct,Salah is one of our best player, but since ever he came back from Africa nation cup, Salah have not being the same he is just there busy doing nothing, no any impart from him, is because of Darwin Nunez and Salah stupid chances miss that why we suffer the set back if not Liverpool could have being the champion, so what Troy Deeney say is 100% correct do you know how much Liverpool spent on that guy?
