Liverpool have enjoyed a standout season under Arne Slot - but have been quiet when it comes to transfers.
The current Premier League leaders have already sealed their spot in the Champions League last-16. They are also still in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
It all means that the Reds are in line for a hectic end to the season. A few additions could potentially go a long way in helping them over the line for trophies.
But Liverpool need to get a move on, with the January window only open for a matter of days. Take a look at the latest transfer news from Anfield below:
Ajax star and Liverpool transfer target Jorrel Hato insists his recent trip to Anfield was NOT due to an imminent move. The Dutchman attended Liverpool’s recent win against Ipswich.
Speaking out on the trip, he said: “I read it all, but I also know that not everything was right. For my development, it’s best that I stay at Ajax now.
“I was invited by Ryan Gravenberch but I didn’t speak to a director there. Liverpool played well and the atmosphere in the stadium was good, but there is no more to say.”
Arne Slot has confirmed that Liverpool WILL be making signings this summer despite a quiet January. “Liverpool should always be competing for a league title,” he told the BBC.
“We should always be competing for the Champions League. I'm hoping I will be able to keep the club at that level. I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well.
“There's a reason for that - because we're happy with the squad. But I do know we're definitely working on strengthening in the summer.”
Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has confirmed he would have preferred to have joined Liverpool as a youngster instead of Manchester City. “My brother was like, ‘there’s going to be scouts here, so you’ve got to show.’ I had that in my head, and I scored a hat-trick in the final and won player of the tournament,” said to the Rising Ballers Podcast.
“I chose Liverpool first and I was going to sign for them but back then driving wasn’t a thing. My family weren’t driving and it was far. Man City were local, so I tried Man City next and it made more sense, it was 15 minutes on the bus,” he explained.
Frimpong has gone on to play for Celtic and Leverkusen - helping the German side to the Bundesliga title last term as an attacking wing-back.

Big money (and good biz?), but selling their highest goalscorer mid-season is, to me, sheer madness!
