Lotito (almost) agrees with Sarri over Insigne Lazio return

Lorenzo Insigne is resisting all offers to keep him free for Lazio.

Back in Rome after several years with Toronto FC, the former Lazio captain is in regular contact with coach Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri is eager to add the veteran midfielder to his squad, but despite his free agency status, no deal can happen until Lazio make a sale in January to create room in the squad.

Along with Sarri, president Claudio Lotito is also now warming to bringing back Insigne.

However, Lazio sports chief Angelo Fabbiani still needs persuading as he would prefer to focus on signing players 22 and under, says Il Corriere dello Sport.
