The final of AFCON 2025 is now confirmed, with Morocco and Senegal set to face each other next Sunday in Rabat after eliminating Nigeria and Egypt respectively.
This clash will have a special flavour for PSG, as Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye will go head-to-head on African football’s biggest stage. Speaking ahead of PSG’s match against LOSC, Luis Enrique expressed his satisfaction at seeing both players reach the final, highlighting the pride he feels in their journey and performances during the tournament.
However, the Spanish coach also admitted he is already thinking about PSG’s interests and their return to Paris. “I’m proud, truly, because it’s wonderful to see them in a final, but you also think about them coming back quickly,” he said with a smile.
Aware of the physical demands placed on his players in recent months, Luis Enrique chose not to send them any personal messages, preferring to let them enjoy the moment. “Only one can win, but it’s positive for PSG, for Senegal, and for Morocco,” he concluded, wishing both players well ahead of the final.
