The Blues were comprehensively beaten by Tottenham on Saturday, but the Brazilian revealed the manager's reaction was not one of sheer anger
Maurizio Sarri has displayed more anger after Chelsea have won games than he did in the wake of Saturday's 3-1 defeat against Tottenham, according to David Luiz.
Chelsea produced their poorest performance of the season at Wembley, finding themselves trailing 2-0 after just 16 minutes thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Sarri labelled Chelsea's performance a "disaster", acknowledging he saw little way back after Kane's goal despite having 74 minutes left of the game.
However, David Luiz has revealed Sarri's unexpected post-match reaction, with the Italian apparently calmer than after some of Chelsea's wins this term.
"He has been, many times, angrier when we've won," the defender told reporters. "It's true. Nobody is happy, of course, the coach is not happy.
"He always tries to do his best for us, and we try to do our best for him. Of course, he's not happy like every single player is not happy.
"But I think it's good for us to understand – to remind us – that the Premier League is never easy. It's not easy to win any game.
"Like I said, we didn't play well. We played really badly, we didn't have the same intensity as in the other games.
The Brazilian defender produced a well-below par performance against Spurs, but he is already looking ahead to a Europa League clash with PAOK Salonika on Thursday.
The Blues are back in Premier League action three days later in a London derby against Fulham and Luiz hopes they can secure three points to close the gap on their title rivals.
"The good thing is that we have another game next week, so an opportunity to recover and gain some points," he added. "Then, soon, we have [Manchester] City, a tough team, the top club in the table, so we can try and make the gap a bit smaller then.
"It was our first loss, but even if you win you have to analyse and improve. That's the only way to success.
"We will analyse as soon as possible what we did badly, to improve it in the week, and to try to do better in the next game."

I think if Sarri continues with this system, Chelsea need to find a way of adapting to teams targeting Jorginho, as Everton & Spurs have now done successfully

David luiz has been a wonderful defender for Chelsea over the years...but I think it's high time for Chelsea to buy another proven ball playing center back.. someone with van dijk's qualities...cos honestly, luiz performance in that Tottenham clash was truly below par,and he has shown his inconsistencies over the matches we av played this season., then we need to buy a potent striker, a new fullback, and a sharp winger cos honestly... willian,Pedro, azplicueta(yes azplicueta),morata and giroud are past there best.

Very poor performance in the match against Spurs. Chelsea players are not AGRESSIVE, Apart from Kante, Ruldiger, Hazard and who again, they played as if playing with their girl friends. How come playing so badly?. I blame no other person than the coach. Sarri has to sit up. He has all the players in the world but cannot blend them so effectively and also counter change his tactics when in difficulty with the opposing team. Chelsea should watch out with this Spurs defeat, other teams will also work hard to beat them. The players are still novice to Sarriball. Intensive training, especially shooting towards goal and aggressiveness and tact is the hall mark. Wake up Sarri and your chosen players. Good luck to both the trainers and players.

trust Sarri, as he’s been influential so far. The major issue now appears to be Kante. If you’re not going to use him in his natural position, is he worth a place in the team?
