Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out of the Champions League clash against Juventus and could miss this weekend’s Manchester derby, Jose Mourinho has said.
Mourinho was expected to recall Lukaku to his starting XI against Bournemouth on Saturday, after dropping the Belgian for Manchester United’s clash with Everton. But Lukaku picked up an injury on Friday afternoon and was unable to feature in the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, with Marcus Rashford scoring an injury-time winner.
Paul Pogba reveals how he reacted to being punished by Jose Mourinho Alisson slammed by Liverpool legends after he makes another blunder Pep Guardiola responds to FFP allegations made against Manchester City Lukaku is going through arguably the most difficult period of his career but was expected to return to the side in Turin for United’s clash with Juve.
But Mourinho has confirmed he is still injured and could even miss the Manchester derby at the Etihad on Sunday. ‘[Romelu] is injured for tomorrow and we don’t know for Sunday [against Manchester City],’ Mourinho said.
Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Juve in the reverse fixture and Mourinho is anticipating another tough test against the Italian champions. He added: ‘Tomorrow is a big match and it’s big enough to not think about ‘what next?’. It’s big enough to think just about the match against Juventus. ‘It’s not crucial for us. The matches against Young Boys and Valencia are going to define the second position.
‘Tomorrow is of course a match that we want to win. We have to play, we want to play and we want that very, very much. ‘The best experiences for teams is when you play against teams that are really the top, but in relation to the Champions League it doesn’t matter what happens here. ‘There are two more matches to play and we are going to fight for qualification until the next match.’

Man united should go with this formation and line and allow our no 7 to roam freely(play his as no 10) And rashford as striker and play herera in place of matic and fred as rw im sure this will get d result as well as we can attack and defend well as both juventus and man city strength are thier strong mf so we need to put as many bodies in mid field to make sure they dont get enough time on the ball

Lukaku injury is no news because his absence is as good as his presence...Manchester United will once more ignite the debate of Mourinho's sacking...as there are two straight matches to be lose...Juv-Man Utd, and Man City-Man Utd. The present state of mind of the citizens is not advantageous to Mourinho's team right now...we just wish them the best...but we already know the score..

Andreas Pereira and Ander Herrera can get the ball from deep(defense) and pass it forward quickly unlike slow Matic, and the two lads can assist Lindelof in proactive defending allowing Smalling space to be the marshal
