Luis Diaz came off the bench to salvage a draw for Liverpool after rising highest at the back-post in stoppage time to score a late equaliser for the visitors at Keniwlorth Road.

Luton were so close to recording their first Premier League home win after Tahith Chong's clinical finish set the hosts on course for victory.

The former Man United winger came off the bench in the second-half and placed himself perfectly to finish a counter-attack initially led by Ross Barkley.

Darwin Nunez sought to continue his recent goalscoring form with a powerful early effort against Luton that rattled the crossbar. It likely would have been a goal if he had chosen placement over power.

The visitors failed to capitalise on their chances and Luton began to grow in confidence as the clock ticked by in the capital.

Luton sat deep and waited for the perfect opportunity to pounce that presented itself to Ross Barkley who raced out of his own half before kick-starting a piece of play that ended with Chong poking the ball past Alisson.

Liverpool attempted to try and get back into the game but were frustrated by a stubborn Hatters defence that was difficult to break down.

Eventually it would be a moment of brilliance from Diaz that got Liverpool out of triouble as he leapt highest in the box to score a stoppage time header.
