MAN CITY PLAYER RATINGS: Gundogan stole the show during FA Cup final victory

Manchester City put themselves within touching distance of a historic Treble after beating rivals Man United 2-1 in the FA Cup final.

Pep Guardiola's side edged an intense counter at Wembley on Saturday afternoon after a brace from German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The 32-year-old opened the scoring with a record-breaking goal, after notching just 12 seconds into the first-half - the quickest goal in FA Cup final history.

Bruno Fernandes struck back before the break but the German fired his back ahead in the second-half and they didn't look back from there.

Man City (3-2-4-1)

STEFAN ORTEGA - 7

Generally composed on the ball and when starting their build-up. Barely anything to do until stoppage time when blocking Raphael Varane.

KYLE WALKER – 6.5

Can become a little over-eager on the big occasions but won his duels and had to more wary once Alejandro Garnacho was introduced.

RUBEN DIAS – 7.5

Agitated Pep Guardiola by not moving possession quickly enough. Major defensive effort though and dealt with Marcus Rashford without fuss.

MANUEL AKANJI – 6.5

Carried on after a horrible Bruno Fernandes tackle. Often the spare man for City, with nobody in particular to pick up.

JOHN STONES – 8.5

Progressive in his mixed role, often popping up in attacking areas. So calm and unruffled, as if time is slowed.

RODRI – 8.5

Peerless again, constantly breaking things up in midfield and did not waste a single pass for the first 65 minutes.

BERNARDO SILVA - 7

In the team for added control and kept things simple out on the right. Does lots of unseen work and runs miles for Guardiola.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE – 7.5

Guilty of forcing things a bit too much earlier in the game but produced a pinpoint clip for Ilkay Gundogan’s second goal.

ILKAY GUNDOGAN - 9

Stunning finish after 12 seconds – and did it again for City’s second. Classy display throughout when finding little pockets of space.

JACK GREALISH - 7

Unfortunate to concede the penalty for handball. Generally defended well, although stifled by Aaron Wan-Bissaka further forward.

ERLING HAALAND - 7

Proved a real handful for Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof, who both stayed tight all afternoon. Frustrated his runs went unseen.
