MANCHESTER UNITED'S Ruben Amorim is statistically the worst boss in the Premier League.
United were stuffed 3-0 by neighbours Manchester City in Sunday's derby.
On an emotional day at the Etihad following Ricky Hatton's sad death, Phil Foden and an Erling Haaland double swept the Red Devils aside.
The defeat followed a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, a 1-1 draw with Fulham and a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Burnley before the international break.
It means United are on just four points from the first four matches - placing them 14th in the table - with a goal difference of -3.
They find themselves already eight points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
However their terrible start to the season could actually be a good omen.
United's return of four points from four matches might, ironically, not be the worst news.
Because, although this is the club's worst start to the season since 1992-93, Sir Alex Ferguson still managed to lead his side to the inaugural Premier League title by the end of that campaign.
But the numbers from Opta make for grim reading for Amorim, 40.
He took charge of his first United game on November 24 last year, a 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
And since taking over, of the 17 ever-present Premier League clubs excluding those promoted and relegated, his struggling Red Devils are BOTTOM of the table.
They have picked up a pitiful 31 points from 31 games, including just eight wins.
That is the exact same points tally as Tottenham but with a worse goal difference on -13 to -4.
West Ham (34 points), Wolves (36) and Fulham (41) are next on the list.
At the other end of the table covering the last 31 matches, Liverpool unsurprisingly lead the way on 68 points.
They are followed by Arsenal (64), Chelsea (58), City (54), Newcastle (53) and Crystal Palace (52).
But despite his nightmare run of results with deficiencies all the way across the pitch, Amorim is refusing to budge from his 3-4-3 formation.
The loss leaves them with just four points from their opening four Premier League games and, after last season's 15th-placed finish, the Portuguese remains under considerable pressure to deliver.
Amorim has won just eight league games as United boss and has refused to vary his tactical approach, regardless of results, since arriving at Old Trafford last November.
"It is not a record we should have at Manchester United," Amorim said in his post-match press conference.
"I accept that but I am not going to change.
"When I want to change my philosophy I will change but, if not, you have to change the man.
"We will talk about that every game we lose. I have played my way and I am going to play my way until I want to change."
When it was pointed out fans could lose faith in him, Amorim insisted he was feeling the disappointment more than them.
He said: "I understand. That is normal (with) the results. I accept that but I don't see it that way.
"I see we are doing better but the results don't show that.
"My message (to fans) is I will do everything. I am always thinking about what is best for the club.
"It is always the same message and the rest is not my decision. (As long as) I am here I will do my best.
"I really want to win games. I am suffering more than them."

Anne Slot went to Liverpool made an impact immediately with the players left by the former manager. Thomas Frank is doing same with Totteham. Amorim has been there, he chose his players and send away other players but no positive results.

I believe the owners are scouting the market for the next one and that is what the fans want to hear now: Oliver Glassner > Marco Silver

But why is the club still backing Amorim even after loosing back to back ? Erick Ten hag was sacked after just two matches but United is proving to the club struggling financially failing to let go of the clueless staff like Amorim, what has he gained from his system?

the problem with Man u not Amorin, the problem is with the x_players. They talk as if they are coaches. They over talk, some of them like Rooney failed to coach. They put the coach on panic. So give the man a time every thing will be good

Since Amorim refuses to use Rashford and the so called "bombed squad" on flimsy excuses that make them to go on loan I know that he is not a good coach for United. He should be sacked now!
