Manchester United are set for an important summer transfer window as Ruben Amorim attempts to leave his mark to turnaround the fortunes of the Old Trafford club next term
Manchester United have their eyes on one thing until the end of the season - success in the Europa League. The club's Premier League term has offered only a whimper but some success could still be achieved.
United must overcome Tottenham to lift a trophy and if they manage that they will earn Champions League football. It would provide some much-needed respite for Ruben Amorim in his first months in charge.
But one eye also must be on the summer. Amorim has called on the club to brave in the window as he prepares to take charge of pre-season for the first time.
There is a demand to bring new players in and to offload the likes of Marcus Rashford and more. It will be no small task for the Red Devils.
Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumours around Old Trafford.
Advanced talks continue
Manchester United continue to be in advanced talks to sign Wolves star Matheus Cunha, according to reports. Both player and club are still said to be positive over a move and are working on an agreement at an advanced stage.
The Brazilian forward has drawn plenty of transfer interest after an impressive season United are planning to launch a bid. Wolves will want the buyers to activate Cunha's £62.5million release clause.
10-player cull
Gary Neville has called for Manchester United to offload as many as 10 players in the summer. The former Red Devils captain called for the club to back Ruben Amorim's overhaul of the squad.
Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, the former defender said: “You're talking about eight to 10 players have to go. There's three or four players that will leave through being out of contract, and he needs to get [another] five or six out, and they're going to have to pay to get them out.
“Rashford's wages now will be paid half by Manchester United. That's £180,000-a-week, £8million-a-year being paid by United."
“I think he looks around the dressing room and thinks ‘If I could wave a magic wand, in the next five years at least 50 per cent of this team wouldn't be here’," he added.
Transfer blow
Maghnes Akliouche has suggested he plans to remain at Monaco despite transfer interest from both Manchester City and Manchester United The French attacker was the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain, as well as City 12 months ago but chose to sign a contract extension instead
Akliouche is committed to the club until 2028 but there is no shortage of interest in his signature. The 23-year-old appears content in Ligue 1 for the moment however, though a €70million (£57m) price-tag has emerged.
“I am under contract at Monaco and I hope that I will be here next season, why not?,” he said.

The main problem in United is wages , in EPL their wages will drop 20% if they cannot get into top4 . But in Europa cup if they will their wages will up 20% ... this is the DNA 🧬 of United now

The idea of existing 10 players will not be possible and can also be possible in essence that if some of our academy players will be among then, it can be possible but if not, there's no way Man united will be able to exit 10 players from the present squad, maximum 5 or 7 players will follow the back door.

Transferring 10 players out of MANCHESTER UNITED is not the sole SOLUTION. As for me is either the BOARD of MANCHESTER UNTIED SACK the COACH ( AMORIM ) or the BOARD force him to charge that his 343 system which dose not in the PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL out there in ENGLAND. That's just the truth
