Seedorf met with the Real Madrid board this week and afterwards was added to the list of candidates to take over the team on an interim basis.
Former Real Madrid player and current Cameroon coach, Clarence Seedorf, has joined the list of possible candidates to immediately replace Santiago Solari on an interim basis.
The Dutch coach was in Madrid this week to watch Los Blancos take on Ajax at the Santiago Bernabéu and attended an official board of directors’ dinner that took place at the Zalacaín restaurant in the Spanish capital.
There he had the opportunity to chat with Florentino Pérez and other members of the board of directors, who were interested in his current professional situation. After the meeting, Seedorf was added to the board’s list of possible candidates to take charge until the end of the season.
Seedorf credentials for Madrid job
The 42-year-old, who played for Madrid from 1996 to 1999, is understood to be valued by the board because of his leadership skills, his charisma and the great reputation he holds amongst fans at the Bernabéu – which gives him a similar profile to that of Zidane.
Seedorf also has experience of coaching in Spain, where he managed Deportivo La Coruña last season from February until the end of the campaign, overseeing 16 games. Although his experience in La Coruña didn’t end well, as he could not save the club from relegation, the players, the board and Deportivo fans still hold him in great esteem.
The Cameroon coach could be the ideal emergency solution to take over the team on an interim basis from next week after the anticipated dismissal of Solari following Madrid’s game against Valladolid on Sunday.
Depending on the run of the results during the final stretch of the season, the club could choose to extend his contract beyond June 30 or end it in favour of bringing in another option to take over permanently from next season, with Zidane, Mourinho and Klopp amongst the most desired targets.

It's only at Madrid a coach knows he's going to be sacked some day right from day one , yet he takes up the job , after which he starts waiting for breaking heart news [Crylaugh][Crylaugh] Interesting how Solari will conduct his next and final game as a r madrid coach , knowing he's getting the sack after Sunday's game , real drama at Bernabeu

Madrid are now totally confused, their fans are more even confuse. The fans just want the board to bring any best player even if that player is not madrid type. I suggest changing managers and buying any types of players isn't the solution but to give managers 1 or 2 seasons and see if that works.
