According to Mundo Deportivo, Adeyemi revealed in an interview that the secret to his speed comes from the Nigerian food "fufu."
Adeyemi was reportedly a former Bundesliga sprint record holder. He has spoken about the origins of this talent. In February 2023, he scored a brilliant goal for Borussia Dortmund against Chelsea in the Champions League.
At the time, he explained that his father's genes and the Nigerian cuisine he learned about from his family roots both contributed to his success. In an interview with CBS, he attributed his incredible running ability to "fufu," a traditional Nigerian dish also known locally as "akpu."
Fufu is a soft, thick, and elastic dough made from fermented cooked cassava, and it is one of Nigeria's staple foods. Adeyemi's top speed in official matches is between 36.6 km/h and 36.7 km/h, though some measurements and sprint peaks are even higher.
