Claude Makelele has defended former teammate Frank Lampard's work as Chelsea manager.
Along with playing alongside Lampard for Chelsea, he was also part of his management team in his first spell in charge.
Makelele told the Mirror: "It's a difficult situation - not just for Frank - it would be for any other coach.
"You could have brought in Guardiola, Mourinho or whoever you think is best. But they would have problems because he was dealing with very new players.
"He did not know their background and everything that is going on. Frank accepted the challenge. The victory on Saturday should have done some good and caused some joy."

Makelele is very wrong to compare Failure Looser ( FL ) with Mourinho.When the "Special One" was signed by Abramovich in the summer of 2004, he was given quite a number of new players who he gelled and moulded into a formidable all conquering team.Mou did not require years to start winning trophies for Chelsea like some pretenders ( Pep and Klopp).He hit the ground running, winning and setting numerous records along the way.Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger never realized what hit em.

To be sincere I don’t blame our coaches anymore even though potter makes a lot of mistakes but let’s say the truth is it potter that’s telling those players not to shoot or score they’re all just a useless player (excluding Thiago) take a look at Kante he just came back from injuries just see how he’s playing the others are just lazy We change 4 managers without seeing a difference those players are just useless
